Mavin load cell to enhance your sim racing experience

Quality sim racing pedals are the key to success! Without a good set of pedals you may well struggle for pace and consistency. A good load cell NA151 brake pedal in particular with real-world feel is especially important in sim racing.

Designed with CAD and FEA, all structural parts are CNC precision laser cut stainless steel. The pedals are strong, stiff, compact and durable. Mathematical models were made to calculate pedal travel and operating force, predicting with great accuracy how each pedal feels in all of its many different configurations. Design tolerances have been optimized in order to have a minimal amount of unnecessary play.

Load cells in sim racing are used on all three pedals. On the throttle and clutch they work as positional sensors, on the brake they measure the pressure put on the pedal.

Unlike designs with rotary potentiometers, load cells provide true linear output in relation to your pedal input. Their accuracy and durability are unmatched as they do not wear over time.

It is well known that brake pedals in cars respond to how hard you press on them rather than how far the pedal travels. A load cell contains one or more strain gauges that sense the deformation of the load cell when it is under pressure and converts this to an electrical signal which is used to accurately determine the amount of force being applied to them. Weighing sensors are commonly used in modern electronic scales and can measure the weight of deli meats or the weight of tractor trailers, depending on their size. Load cells are one of the easiest and most effective upgrades you can make to your pedals.
